As I am gathering inspiration for the designs of The Fruit Experiment, I start to value more and more the great colours mother nature has gathered in fruits.
Most fruits are not monochromatic. They display many different colours, and saturation levels. Maybe the most fascinating of this, is the way a piece of fruit can change colour when its get riper and tastier.
For all fruits of The Fruit Experiment I decided to create a colour palette, illustrating the tints that the different types of fruits may have. I was inspired by an article that I read on designboom. The article illustrates how smoothies are made in exact Pantone colours. Next to this great culinary creativity, I love the way the pictures are taken, simply ordering the fruits on a coloured paper matching the Pantone swatch.
